For no particular reason i was thinking of my friend and classmate today,Skip Catelli, who died January 4,1969 at a place called Quang Ngai,Vietnam. Seems so long ago but i still remember helping work on his truck,i think a 56 or 57 chevy pickup in auto shop and skipper with that quick smile and laugh. We wern't close friends, but friends anyway as well as classmates and i was deeply saddened by his death. At that time in our history my brother was still on a hill called Khe Sanh as a marine, and two close cousins were also in Vietnam, one an engineer like Skip, the other a crewchief on a huey helicopter and so when i found out about Skipper being killed it was almost as a member of my family died. So my friend,i know you have been with God and the Angels these past years, probably restoring His fleet of used trucks, just wanted to say i remember that quick wit and laugh.Rest in Peace buddy
I met Skip in Mister Richmonds metal shop class. We were friends in the metal work we did and the laughs we shared. Years ago I heard he had been killed in Vietnam. Skip is the only member of our class that I knew who died there. Was he the only one?
I think of him when I build some things in my shop.Funny things, memories . . . . . .
When I went to Washington DC I looked him up on The Wall and thought good thoughts for our time together.
